About 5 month ago I purchased a 1998 1100 ACE Tourer with the factory windshield and hard case saddle bags. She has the same paint scheme, you would find on
the state police cruisers; Black and Creme' white. It had taken me some time to make up my mind buying the ACE, since she had 91000 miles on the odometer.
My mechanic checked the bike thoroughly to find that the knurl marks are still visible in the cylinders and she still brawls a healthy 160 lb compression on
each cylinder. Well, what can I say, so far I have no regrets; just great riding time on my ACE.

Welcome to the family, Longtail. It's a Honda.........Just keep it serviced, treat it right, and it will last forever.

.....tail, welcome to the forum from Upstate New York. Glad to read that with 91K miles your Tourer is still running very strong. That's encouraging. The
information that you'll find here on our forum will help you keep that bike running strong for years to come.
Look forward to talking with you more in the future. alepel "Ride with the Spirit always, in all ways"....hombldr |

Welcome . Wow , that is aot of miles on your T . I am really happy to hear that they are capable of lasting well with so many miles on them . I wonder how far
they will run before needing a rebuild . Mine has somewhere around 48500 on it now and still runs like a new bike , but I was really wondering how long it
would be before needing some work done . I guess it will be quite a while yet .

Thank to all of you for welcomming me.
Well, I just hit the 95000 mile on my tourer. However, about two weeks ago the sliders in the carburetors needed to be replaced. When I purchased the bike I was surprised why the bike barely made 80 mph. The previous owner said that she never was faster than 80mph. Well, my mechanic found that the sliders membranes had several cuts due to old age. Now she has the 'umpf ' for a save overtake maneuver. On a very quite stretch road I was hitting the 110mph mark. I shall keep everyone abreast of any changes or repairs on my 'old girl'. |

Great to have you here. It seems the B&C bikes were given a little extra something at the factory . Black & Cream,,, the fastest "T"s.

Sorry for the delayed welcome. Glad you found the speed problem. It is nice to know that you will not be limited to 80mph anymore.
