Now that it's about to drop 40 degrees in a day, I thought I'd pose a question:
What do you do for cold weather riding?
This is both for conversation and education. I'm going to go St Louis to Texas in the middle of December and am a little afraid of the first 5 hours
Anyway, to answer the question myself: I ride the T voluntarily down to 28 degrees all year through, though misinformation has had me down to 20 degrees on a couple occasions. Full face helmet, turtle fur, thin + grippy ski gloves. I've been experimenting with mittens the couple cold days this year as well, and so far, I like them (it only takes about 5 minutes to get over the feeling you have no control. You do brake and clutch with all four fingers, right?).
