I joined this group to get info and support for my wife's 98 Honda Shadow Ace Tour. I posted a note with a picture of her with her bike in that section.
I bought my '86 Yamaha Venture Royale without ever having ridden one or even sat on one just because it was Yamaha and I loved the look, and they were sellilng cheap!. I run the National Ford Taurus SHO Club http://www.shoclub.com and they have Yamaha engines, so I thought the connection was worth exploring. I bought this 20,000 mile example far away on the east coast and had a friend bring it to me a couple months later on one of his regular trips west to Illinois. the first moment I sat on the bike I knew I was home. I love the older "Gold Wing" style look, and Yamaha makes great engines. This bike has enough bells and whistles for me, and I have put more than 3500 miles on it since getting back on a bike for the first time in over 20 years late summer 2007.
I ride with a local group affiliated with STAR Touring. http://www.star482.com We have all makes including Harley, and take many rides each spring/summer/fall. Here is my BlackCherry/Gold Yamaha:

I have added a backrest, a couple gremlin bells and a lot of glorious miles since getting it.
I have enjoyed being a part of the Honda Shadow online group, and hope that my wife and I can meet up with many of you in rides this coming summer.
