Man ! thanks for the update. I am planning to ride a portion of the BRP in three weeks. Looks like I will be doing the more northerly section in VA !

A little hint about the BRP and the Skyline Drive. The BRP has a 45 mph speed limit and is free. The Skyline Drive goes through a National Park. It costs $10 and the speed limit is 35 mph. These days the only way I would go on the Skyline Drive is if it very early in the morning before the RV's start clogging up the roadway.
