You may want to check with Stan (BamaTrider) - I believe he had one available but may have already found a new home for it.

Yep...it's gone already. I do have a good source for new ones that the Honda square tube rack will bolt onto.

Looking for a luggage rack... | #3
|
Hi from Montana; just joined up- haven't even taken possession of my bike yet, but I'm looking for a luggage rack- (or good sources for one) -so that I
can put my t-bag on and use those huge gorgeous saddlebags for camera gear, groceries, etc. Thanks much, and I cannot wait to climb
aboard...................... Dan

the street. Wow! I was shocked. I NEVER thought I was ever going to hear that. So I want to get a backrest for her. I really don't care for the
luggage rack but if it comes with the backrest then so be it.

alain,
this is what i did on the aero to make it a little quicker and easier to change back and forth. took a piece of 1" x 1/8" flat steel and shaped it a little and then covered it with leather and studs. they say you should have some support between the fender braces when you remove the backrest. i think one guy on another forum took the metal piece and had it chromed, but i just didn't want that expense and didn't want to wait a week or two. this way, all you have to do is remove the four small bolts that hold the backrest, you don't have to remove fender bolts or bags. now i've got to make a bracket for the front of the rear seat to slide into instead of bolting it onto the front seat like honda did it. that way, i'll slide it in at the front and then use the rear bolt to secure the back part of the seat. with this set-up, think i can change it out in a matter of a few minutes. bud |

Alain, I have bought 2 backrest sets from this company and my friend has bought one from them, too. A put a co-worker onto them and he bought one from them,
also. Never a complaint so far. The pictures show a luggage rack attached to the backrest, but it is an option and must be purchased separately. I was told
that this company is who makes Honda's backrests for them, but it's a rumor that I picked up on when looking for backrests a few years ago. These are
very similar to the Honda brand backrests and the Honda stuff will interchange on most of them. On average they run about $100 less than Honda.

Thank you Stan.....your endorsement is good enough for me. I don't care about the rack so I was glad to hear you say it was an option.

re: ACE T backrest/ luggage rack | #11

Hi all; I'm mainly after the luggage rack, so that I can mount my tail bag. I still haven't yet picked up my "T", but the pictures show that
it has the driver and passenger backrests. I can mount the bag backwards- (between the backrests) on those occasions when I'm riding solo, but not when
with a passenger; and there will be times when that's when I'll need it most. New topic / question; ... I'm not certain that I like the tread
design of the Dunlop 206 tires that appear to be the only recommended or exact fit to the "T". Are there other brands and/ or sizes that have worked
on these? Due to the high cost of replacing the tires on roadbikes, my primary interest is in longevity, (as well as fit, of course). Thanks very much! P.S.
If anyone is planning a Yellowstone trip soon, the weather has been cool with frequent rain showers, but the baby buffalo (bison) are everywhere! Two of the
higher passes in the park have yet to open, due to snowplowing progress, but both of these will surely open within the next couple of weeks. ..... Thanks
again, Dan

dan,
welcome to the forum. can't tell you a lot about the tire size, as i ride an aero and not sure the tire sizes are the same. i can tell you though you might want to re-think the longevity of a tire being your main priority. the longevity of a tire usually means it's a harder rubber and therefore will not handle as well. if you're not that much an aggressive rider or rarely ride in the rain, you might be o.k. with the harder rubber tire. my riding partner rides a ducati (yeah, we're the odd couple, but he's also my ladyfriends son) and he replaces the tires at the beginning of every season with a premium "soft rubber" tire. wish i could get up to montana to do some riding. i drove through there about 35 years ago and remember a lot of wide open spaces...got a little scared i might not find a gas station soon enough. bud |
