In the never ending quest for better, I've stumbled upon a new favorite engine oil (actually, my supplier was out of my old favorite). I was shocked at how
much better the new oil felt. I don't think I've seen this brand mentioned before in this forum, though it may have been and I've just forgotten.
Anyway, it's: Motorex Power Synt 4T 10W50 fully synthetic motor oil.
The engine and the clutch of my T both seem to really love it. Given the mileage on my T, and the hard riding I tend to do, I'm even contemplating giving the 10W60 version of that same oil a try.
I've tried numerous different oils, from standard to blends to fully synthetics. Three other brands of fully synthetic oil did not make me as happy as this particular brand does, two of which I had been using regularly in 10W50 until I found this oil.
I had used 10W40, but it broke down pretty quick in my riding, especially long stints of lane splitting heating it up, and that became an increasingly important consideration as I racked up the miles on my T. I tried 20w50, but it had an obvious lack of adequate lubrication from cold startup until it warmed up enough to thin 20weight enough to flow sufficiently. That led me to 10W50 as my weight of choice, which I found only available in fully synthetic.
Has anyone else tried this oil? Has anyone here tried 10W60?
