Has anyone used nitrogen to inflate their tires??? I know one local tire dealer that offers that service. Proper tire pressure is very important to bike
safety and tire wear. I would like to get max miles out of my new tires and I don't check pressure as often as I should. Maybe if I think about the COST of
new tires it will help me remember (approx $300) What do T RIDERS think about putting nitrogen in tires??? Thanks, BE SAFE-RIDE ON Larry

Hey Larry,
We use nitrogen in our race tires all the time and I also use it in my bike tires. It is lighter than air (good for racing) and it does not heat and expand as quickly as air (also good for racing) long story short anything good for racing must be good for motorcycling!!!  Nitrogen FTW!!!

Since "normal"air is about 20% Nitrogen you are 20% there already. I just bleed 80% of the air out of the tires then refill again. Repeat several
times until you have 100%.

Nix&Bob, Thanks for the advice.( HEY NIX, That is one sharp T, The paint looks 5 inches thick, you must be a paint and body man to get a gloss like that)
Do you have any detail tips? Bob, thanks I enjoy reading you post, I've learned a great deal from your post. Lets see If I can put that knowledge to use.
I use nitrogen in my HVAC work to test systems for leaks and just happen to have a tank!!!! I think I'll nitro my tires. BE SAFE- RIDE ON!!!!!

Apparently, Bob's been spending too much time at high altitudes. Normal air is about 78% nitrogen.
What you're getting with N2 is the absence of moisture that is normally in air. Dry air and pure nitrogen would both react to temperature changes exactly the same. Reach deep in the back of your memory for the ideal gas law. I know we had a long discussion a while ago, but I couldn't find the old thread.
