By the XL size of these and wear them over your regular gloves.

Are you being serious Fred? Doesn't the water run down your sleeve back into the glove with no way to cinch the gauntlet?

Jay....for what it's worth I have a suggestion but it requires a bit of a story first.
Several years ago I was going on a hunting trip up in Canada in the month of June. Our host told us that it would be the height of black fly season and we needed to bring netting to protect ourselves while we were sitting in the woods. So I bought the mosquito netting jacket and mosquito netting hat. But my hands were the concern because we needed to be able to handle a rifle. Our host told us that we need to buy neoprene fishing gloves that were lined and had an elastic wristband to wear outside of the sleeve of our mosquito netting jackets. The neoprene gloves gave us the dexterity to handle our rifles perfectly and protected us from the biting black flies. So for riding in light rain my leather gloves are fine, because my Clearview windshield really protects me beautifully. But for heavy rain I use those neoprene fishing gloves and my grip is perfect and sleeves stay dry. So that is my suggestion.

But how comfortable would those tight fitting gloves be on a long ride while gripping the bars? I'm heading down to Cinci, Oh for a Patriot guard mission
tomorrow morning to honor MIA/KIA SSG Keith Matthew Maupin. Looks to be some rain in the
forecast.

Hey Fred did you notice the selection of KEVLAR gloves that northern safety had?
If the leather is sewn over the kit kevlar in the palm these look interesting. They even have black ones. But nothing with a secure wrist closure.

I've a pair of Joe Rocket all-textile gloves. Short cuff, multi-layer with DryTech waterproof membrane. I've ridden for a few hours with them in a good
rain shower and they kept my hands dry and remained very grippy on the controls. One thing I don't like about them is the multi-layer construction and the
innermost liner material makes it tend to stick to your hands. This is a problem when pulling them off or on.
The thickness is moderate so feel is not encumbered much, but there is no armor on the backside of the hand at all, just some layers of material including the ballistic nylon on the outside. The palm is synthetic leather. The advantage is you can put these away damp and not worry about it. Sizing is about right but, fingers are a bit short. I got them on clearance from New Enough so they are discontinued. The Ballistic 5.0 is about the closest thing in the current line.

ragtop69gs wrote: They are actually not tight fitting gloves. They are tight enough that your finger doesn't get tangled up in the trigger of a rifle but they are not
skin tight to where your fingers sweat in them.

I have a XXL pair that I bought from Roadgear for $3. The only time the water runs down into my gloves is when I put my hands down. As long as I am riding with my arms outstretched my hands stay dry. I only wear them when I am riding for more than a 1/2 hour in medium or heavy rain. Otherwise I wear my Olympia gel gloves when riding in the rain.

Hey are so cheap I'm tempted, i could get a second pair to test on the belt sander to see if they are any good.
The wrist closure could be the killer. I think the regular glass handling
gloves could come off easily in an accident. I'm quite fond of waring my M-Pact Mechanix gloves when riding. After thinking about the Kevlar ones at your
link I found these which seem interesting. http://www.hexarmor.com/media/pdf/4018_1.pdf they look a
lot like my Mechanix gloves but are beefier. They go for about $30. I think my Mechanix gloves where a bit less then $20

Well after looking at all the so-call waterproof riding gloves for between $50-90 I bought a pair of FirstGear rubber overgloves. they fit over my regular
riding gloves or a pair of light fleece hunting gloves. The best part is they were only $14.99
Thanks for everyones imput.

Jay,
Never found any waterproof gloves. I bought a set of Wilson all-weather golf gloves. I figure, if the glove can hold a wet golf club grip, it will certainly hold on to a wet motorcycle grip. Andy |

Jay,
My Toggs raingear has an elastic wristband. So far I've been lucky... every time it rains, it was warm. Andy |
