HSATF Tail Gunner Posts: 222 04/19/08 12:35 PM Road Captain	Tags : None Well as always wanting more juice out of the T's stator.I was talking with my good friend about his Harley and his came with two option of a power from the alt/stator. He got the highest output.So we started looking in his parts manual and the difference wasn't the stator it was the flywheel.There were two different flywheels- the more powerful one had more magnets inside.So I went to Ron Ayers parts and it has to flywheel part numbers for the T but I'm not sure yet what the difference is.We need more power I hope theres something to this

They are both actually generator rotors and the alternator would produce no power at all if they did not have magnets. I think it is highly unlikely that one has more powerful magnets than the other one since if that were true one would produce more voltage than the other and the voltage regulator would have to run a different duty cycle to get down to the 13V to 15V required to charge the battery. I suspect that there are two different suppliers, but the only way to know for sure is to ask RonAyers. Fred

HSATF Tail Gunner Posts: 222 04/21/08 7:40 PM Road Captain	Well this is true that I'm not an expert``` all I saw was in the Harleys parts book that it showed 2 different flywheel and 1 stator.Beside each flywheel one of them side high output.And I do know for a fact that Harley comes with 2 different volt output on some of there bikes And I thought voltage reg. controled the voltage by staying on if need or shutting off if not or something to that affect (regulating). But if not enough voltage is getting to the reg. it would have to stay on all the time for the demand thats needed And in RonAyerys they do show to flywheels.I guess I'm wrong but I don't think RonAyers would show us 2 suppliers.I will check with them though.It was mostly hope for more power - the only real complaint from a bike I love Last Edited By: southside bob 04/21/08 7:52 PM.
