Bronco for "T" |
Lead | ||
|
I have a 1974 Ford Bronco that I am not currently using. It has a bored over .030 302 with 289 heads. C4 trans, PTO winch and double front shocks. It is a
solid southern vechile with no rust that is looking for a good home. I would like to trade it for a T doesn't matter what year, miles, or color combo.

I don't have a "T" to swap, but would love to see some pics of the Bronco. I am an Old Bronco Man myself. I have had almost every year they were
made at one time or another. My last 2 were a 76 and a 77 that was uncut and restored all original.
Later and Good Luck Rick

Sure I'll be glad to post some pics of my bronco for all to see. Gotta give me some time to find them though. The Bronc is at hunting camp but I have
some pics floating around the house of it. I'll post some up of my car too. I got a '73 340 Duster that I restored when I was in high school. I am
located in Shaw, MS. Its not much of a town but a nice place to get away to. It is in west MS, right around where Arkansas, Louisiana and MS all meet at the
river.

I know the area well........Born and raised in Greenville, MS. My in-laws are from Doddsville, MS. Bet you didn't think anyone here would know where
Doddsville is!!! LOL!!!! They were raised on Senator Eastlands plantation. You know the Kittrells or Jones's? I am one of the Muirheads from Greenville.
You wouldn't happen to own the white Bronco that sits on Hwy 61 would you? I been looking at it for years when passing thru. Good Luck on your quest for a "T"! You want be disappointed in it! Later

Well I went to school with all the Muirhead grandkids, Patrick, Micheal, and Tiffany at Greenville Christian School. My name is Will Tolliver, if you know
Greenville you prob know my bronco, it was my grandfather's, Lee Newman. I bought it from him a few years before he died. It is the light green one that
he used to drive all over. It is at hunting camp in bruce which is the land that "paps" was born on, so family/hunting camp land.

Speaking of Broncos and Granddad Lee...........I have a very funny story about both................
My Dad always had Broncos. He would build them up and then sell them and start over. He had this one that he had built a hot-rod motor for and put dual wheels on the back. You could rev it up dump the clutch and it would "pop a wheelie". Well, before I got my drivers lisence I would "borrow" it when he would go out of town to see his mother. One day I "borrowed" it and was across the hwy in another neighborhood and all my buddies were screaming, "pop a wheelie....pop a wheelie". I reved her up and let her go.................POP, and there goes the ring gear and pinion!!!!!!! I got my cousin to pull me home with his car. I didn't have sense enough to just lock the front wheels in and drive it home!!!! This would come back to haunt me a few weeks later! I parked it back in the yard just ahead of where my
Dad had left it and hurriedly mowed the grass. I was watching out the window when Dad first got in it and tried to drive it. Yep, nothing happened! He got out,
slammed the door and headed in the house. I had my story ready!!!! He asked me what the %$#@ I had done to his Bronco. Of course he automatically knew I was
responsible! I told him that I had gotten in it to move it so I could mow the grass. He knew I was lieing already, because I never mowed with out him
threatening me bodily harm! I said, when I started to move it kinda stuttered and I gave it more gas. (that big carburetor really would do this if you let it
idle and load up)see I was thinking like a genius! I told him that when
I gave it the gas and it stuttered that something popped and I just cut it off and forgot to tell him when he got home. He looked at me for about 5 minutes and said I can't prove your lieing,
but I know damn well you are! When I do find out the truth I am going to have me some of that A$$ He then went back out to the truck and locked the wheels in
and drove it into the shop. About 45 minutes later he had a new chunk in it and was gone! OK, I'm clear and good to go, right? NOPE! About 2 weeks later he
came in the house and told me to sit down, we needed to talk. I knew I was in trouble but did not have a clue what about THIS time. He told me to tell him one
more time what happened to his Bronco, and I better not lie this time!!! Of course I had to stick to my story! He let me finish and then began to get him some of that A$$ he talked about! After he finished beating me like a rented mule, I ask him how he found out? He
said that yesterday the mail man ask him if he got his Bronco fixed? He said yea. After the mail man left he began to wonder how the mail man knew it was
broke because he had simply drove it in the shop and fixed it with out telling anyone that it was broke. So today I ask him how he knew it was broke and the
mail man said, well, I just assumed it was broke after I saw them boys pulling it home with a chain!!! That mail man was Lee Newman. machinist2's Grand Dad!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!! Dad
ALWAYS found out the truth, but I never quit trying!!!!!

This is so cool! I love it when forum members make connections - sort of like "6 degrees from Kevin Bacon", only its "2 degrees from
machinist02"!!
Great story about the broken Bronco, Rick! (I have an Air Force-trained Dad, and if we didn't toe the line....oooooooeeeeeeee...I sooo feel your pain!) Live It, Love It, Paint It, Ride It!

Paps (mailman newman) | #13 | ||

hahahahaha all I can say Rick is that i'm sorry bout that ass whooping that Paps caused you to get, but the story is great. I called my mom and told her
about it and she couldn't do anything but laugh because although Paps was only asking about the Bronco and he was a genuinily great man he did have a bit
of nosey about him. I can't tell you the number of times that I tried to get over on him or dad about something and more often then not Paps would already
know how it happened before I told him a story.
