I am planning as my next addition to my Tourer some of that chrome edging on the flange around the gas tank. I believe that I read here on the forum that it is
best to remove the gas tank and work with the edging on a warm if not hot day.
I know that I should run the gas tank just about dry. Shut off the petcock and pull off the rubber fuel line. But as I examined my gas tank in anticipation of the removal I noticed that there is a small rubber hose coming off the back of the tank on the right side. Is this a vent? If I pull this rubber hose off does anything happen? What if anything else is there to concern myself with in pulling the gas tank off, other than hanging onto it?
It would seem that if I removed the drivers seat, I might not have to remove the gas tank. Is this true?
I am going to use chrome edging with adhesive on the back and not the U channel variety. How many of you have used this and is additional adhesive necessary?
