My friend, Denise, and I are looking to camp close to the BRP a few times this year so we can do extended periods of Fairy Stone hunting. I've found a
number of private campgrounds near Fairy Stone State Park...but have a question about the State Parks. Most of them say "one vehicle per tent site".
Since we'll both have gear on our bikes, I'm hoping that they will allow two bikes at a site (or 3 if John decides to camp).
Have any of you had an issue with bikes in a campground? I know that some private camps don't even want bikes going in and out (our friends with two Nomads
have to park their bikes in the general parking area away from their RV at the camp they stayed all winter in FL).
I have got the camping ITCH somethin' fierce and can't wait to head for the hills!

They list bike-friendly and bike-only campgrounds. 3-4 are in NC. |

With that link I get the dreaded "ERROR: The page you requested could not be found on the CycleFish website!" You can click on the Hit The Road
button at the top of the page and choose Motorcycle Camping from the drop down menu.

Thanks, Winger and Skip! I'll be checking some of those out, too, and see what their noise and "lights out" rules are. The only issue I have with
SOME (not all) of the "bike only" camps, it that some can get a bit wild or noisy with over-enthusiastic consumption of spirits, or show-offs doing
burnouts on their bikes. I'm sure I'll get enough of THAT noise when we camp in the big field at the Smokeout in June! *sigh*
I'm more of a "back to nature" gal who enjoys hearing the chirping of the birds, and the rustle of the wind in the trees.

Thanks, Scott, that is an interesting site.
It has a lot of RV "boondocking" sites (unofficial camping in Wal-Mart parking lots), but by looking around, I did find a couple of official campgrounds in VA for tenting, and some of the listing comments were made by motorcyclists. Live It, Love It, Paint It, Ride It!
