HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 1031 05/28/09 6:37 PM	Geez, I better get on the ball and make some reservations! I'm going to take the T to our weekly dinner tomorrow night and see how my shoulder feels. I'm building up that shoulder strength so we can ride the T's there - wish me luck!! Alain, I am so very excited that you are planning on attending! I won't be riding on the group rides, so I'm looking forward to "talking story" with you. I am thrilled that I'm going to meet you folks in person...hugs for everyone!! Dawn.....the lady at reservations said that there were still "a few rooms left" I wouldn't hesitate if I were you. Although there are many more motels in the area, it's still nicer to be at one. This trip is going to be a stretch for me and riding alone has never been my forte, but I'm going to work on it and conquer this demon. The end result of course is that I know that I'm going to have a good time and get some miles on Old #12. HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 941 05/29/09 10:35 AM	alain, as you found the offical address is the 350 beverly, however if you put that address into google or garmin maps it can't find the address or puts it at the other end of town. the 639 address i gave locates corectly in the map programs. sorry for the confusion. Tony

I found that out to be true also. I used your 639 address to see the hotel on the google street view. I mentioned all of this to the reservation clerk but she could not offer an explanation except for the fact that it was wrong. HSATF Tail Gunner Posts: 75 06/02/09 8:07 PM	Terry and I rode through Elkins on Saturday and again on Sunday. The Super 8 looks like a pretty decent place. It is located on US 250 just South of Elkins about 1/4 mile. If coming on 250 headed North, the motel is on your left and if your headed south ya can probably guess where it will be?? Terry and I took a quick trip down 250 out of Elkins to the Durbin area before heading North on 28 then East on 33 over to Franklin. From there we headed North on US 220 up to Petersburg then made the loop back past Seneca Rocks and back to Franklin. Sunday we took 33 West to 55 West back to Elkins then took 250 through Phillipi (very cool covered bridge there) up to Pruntytown where we picked up US 50 and headed West back to home in Parkersburg, WV Looking forward to the rally. Roads were in excellent shape this weekend!! Brian

HSATF Member Posts: 17 06/07/09 3:06 PM	Things HAVE been hectic lately! Had to make a flying tripdown to Alabama over the Memorial Day weekend for a family medical emergency. Then had to be back up here in Maryland for work as soon as the weekend was over. (When I say "fly" I almost meant it!) Thank goodness that I didn't run into any speed-traps or anything! Made it back safe & sound, just to find out that I'm going to be heading back for a class that will keep me away from home until mid-Sept. so we decided to make a mini vacation out of it. (A couple weeks in Bama & the panhandle of Florida, then send the wife & kids back up here while I attend class.) I'll be ready for next year though! (Hopefully with a custom painted bike, compliments of Mrs. EclecticDawn!) Until then everyone... Keep it between the ditches with rubber side down & chrome side up! Ride Safe!

HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 1031 06/09/09 2:21 PM	I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone. Funny thing is, I'm usually very nervous/anxious about taking long rides. When I realized that we have no big cities to maneuver through on this trip, my anxiety level went way down. So now I'm just EXCITED!! I've been trying to get a rally countdown clock posted in my siggie, but so far, have been unsuccessful.
